I’m Justine Mooney, a CIPD-qualified leadership consultant and coach – and I understand what you’re working through.

In February 2014, after a restructure, I left my corporate HR role and started my own business. I took the challenges I’d overcome in employment and now use my experiences to support others, like you, who are going through a similar situation and know it’s time for something to shift.

Helping you see things differently

Working in a people function is a big responsibility. You have access to confidential information, and people across your organisation look to you for advice and support. Yet it’s emotionally draining managing other people’s performance and wellbeing if you’re struggling to overcome workplace challenges yourself.

You need someone to guide you who’s been there too. With more than 25 years’ corporate experience and over 10 as a self-employed consultant and coach, I’m a Chartered Member of the CIPD, an ILM Level 7 coach, and accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. So I know how to give you the accountability to take the actions you need.

Practical approaches for leadership development

Naturally, I’m empathetic, down to earth and curious – you have to be as a coach! We’ll likely have a laugh along the way, but I won’t ask you to do anything ‘woo-woo’. I’ll also challenge you to think deeply about yourself. That can be hard, but I’ll listen to you, support you and make sure I ask the right questions.

In your corporate world led by KPIs, budgets, projects and committees, you want to know there’s something you can apply to your workplace and the people in it. I want you to come away from our coaching programme not only with clarity but with tangible, pragmatic tools to action better results – ready to move on from whatever’s been holding you back.

A safe space to be challenged

It might not feel like it now, but chances are you already know what’s right for you. We just need to unlock the answers to the questions in your head. When we work together, you’re always in control – and everything we talk about is confidential.

All my work comes through recommendations from clients who say they’ve felt understood, heard and respected. But you still need to know we’re going to be a good fit to get the best outcome from coaching. So, we’ll start with a discovery call, where you tell me about your current challenges, and I share what a bespoke coaching programme might look like for you. Then, you decide if you’d like me to help you uncover a new perspective and continue your career with confidence.

Your job has a huge effect on you. If you’re stressed at work, your life will probably feel stressful too. And it’s particularly tough when you’re managing others and leading by example in a people-focused role. Perhaps you’re:

Psychometric testing

Working with the right people and placing them in the right roles from the start cuts costs, boosts morale and puts your mind at ease. Using psychometric testing tools, I’ll give you the objective data you need for when you’re making decisions about your people.

As a trained, accredited practitioner of many of the most respected psychometric profiling tools, I support you with personality, behavioural and ability testing for recruitment and development. This includes bespoke 121 feedback sessions for the candidate or participant and, where appropriate, a personalised development plan.

Workplace mediation

Workplace conflicts are disruptive and time consuming. Mediation, with a third-party presence and perspective, helps you resolve the differences getting in the way of good performance.

I follow a tried and tested mediation process that’s respectful, confidential and effective. It’s usually possible to complete a mediation in one day, either face to face or online, so everyone feels they can move on in their working relationships confidently and happily.

Workplace mediation also means you can demonstrate, if needed, what you’ve done to avoid conflict escalation when resolving disputes. So, not only is it faster and cheaper than complex legal processes, but it’s also positively focused, dignified and seeks resolution – not blame.

Leadership development training

You may be supporting new leaders who are finding their feet. Or perhaps you’re looking to develop the capability of senior leaders and your management teams.

My leadership development training focuses on the skills and behaviours needed to create a positive workplace culture. I help leaders discover how to develop themselves, better guide their people, and effect positive change. This may be a tailored development programme, a team-building event, or bite-sized, topic-specific webinars to suit your priorities, resources and existing learning provision.

Team coaching

Team coaching brings your team together under the guidance of an executive coach – so you can develop a deeper understanding of one another, learn together and unlock your whole team’s potential.

As a leader who’s experienced in coaching, you’ll no doubt see how the people you lead could also benefit from the different perspectives and growth team coaching brings.

HR consultancy

Sometimes there’s just too much to do – and not enough capacity or specialist capability in your team to do it. I provide professional, confidential and flexible support for performance, development or change programmes. For example, I help you review and manage your processes (such as redundancy or performance management), plan and deliver leadership capability assessments, and develop or improve your internal coaching provision.
